MWU librarians can perform literature searches to update lecture slides for MWU faculty. Search requests are subject to librarian workload and teaching responsibilities.

Teaching Resources
Recommend a Book for the Library Collection
To recommend books for Midwestern University library's collection, fill out the form above.
You will need the following:
- Title, authors or editors, edition number, year, publisher, and ISBN, if possible
- Print or e-book preference
- Some books may not be available in e-book format
If your recommendation is approved, it may take up to 6 weeks for the book to be available in the collection
Textbook Purchase Request
All required and recommended books are purchased by the library for student use.
- Find out if the book is already available.
- We already have the book? You are done!
- We will order any item for the reserve collection that we do not already have in our collection.
To request a book not in your campus library, fill out the form above.
You will need the following:
- Course number and name
- Quarter(s) your course will be taught
- As much data about the book as you have
- Title, authors or editors, edition number,year, publisher, and ISBN if possible

Available Textbooks
All required and recommended texts for courses for which the library receives the syllabus are purchased and placed on reserve. New editions of required texts are purchased for reserve. The library orders both print and electronic of everything unless it is cost-prohibitive. Please keep the following in mind:
- Print copies of textbooks on reserve are available to students for a 2-hour checkout period, in-library use only
- Not all textbooks are available in ebook format
- Some publishers will only sell electronic versions of their textbooks to individuals, not to libraries. Please check with the library to verify if an electronic version of your course's textbook is available to libraries
- Some publishers place limits on the number of simultaneous users that can access an ebook
- Some publishers place limits on the number of downloads or prints of an ebook (such as a page limit)
- Online supplemental materials that come with some textbooks may not be available through the library
- Some ebooks are not in pdf format and may not include page numbers
- Access to ebooks through the library is not available to students after graduation
